SECCA Protective Behaviours workshop is designed to train school based educators how to use the SECCA App to teach Protective Behaviour lessons. Please note that these workshops are ONLY for school based staff (i.e. Teachers and Education Assistants at Education Support Centres).

The SECCA App (https://app.secca.org.au/) is an innovative, flexible learning resource that supports the teaching and understanding of sexuality and relationships education concepts. The SECCA App is a free, evidence-based resource that is image-based and pre-programmed with lesson plans that support the ABLEWA curriculum. The SECCA App was developed with school staff and has been used in classrooms since its launch in 2018.

This workshop will:

  1. Refresh participants of the fundamental messages of protective behaviours and traditional protective behaviours teaching resources
  2. Reinforce the importance and purpose of teaching protective behaviours education in schools
  3. Teach staff how to use the SECCA App
  4. Assist staff to use the SECCA App for teaching protective behaviours education in a school setting

All workshops will be run from 9.30am – 3pm at City West Lotteries House in West Perth.

Morning Tea and Lunch will be provided at each workshop.

Please bring a laptop, tablet or iPad to this training as this training is practical and the SECCA App does not work on phones.

Each school can register up to 4 staff members (per workshop) as we would like to make sure as many schools as possible have access to this training.
